Donald Trump’s election is not a matter of left vs right. A different Republican candidate might have been a political defeat, but this is the end of reason and convention.

A short excerpt from this article:
“a President whose disdain for women and minorities, civil liberties and scientific fact, to say nothing of simple decency, has been repeatedly demonstrated. Trump is vulgarity unbounded, a knowledge-free national leader who will not only set markets tumbling but will strike fear into the hearts of the vulnerable, the weak, and, above all, the many varieties of Other whom he has so deeply insulted. The African-American Other. The Hispanic Other. The female Other. The Jewish and Muslim Other.”
I owe it to m y muslim friends, whom he deminises, the gay community, whose arch enemy he made vice-president, all victims of other hateful dictators, from Jewish victims of the holocaust to disabled unemployed in present day UK, to speak up and stand with them against this wave of foretold discrimination.
The Republican said in March that abortions should be illegal and he supported “some form of punishment” for women who had them. His campaign quickly backed down from that statement, however, and asserted that the candidate believed the legality of the procedure should be left up to individual states, with any criminal penalties being reserved for abortion providers.
He has said he supports an abortion ban exception for “rape, incest and the life of the mother”
Mr Trump has promised the biggest tax cuts since the Ronald Reagan era. He has pledged reductions across-the-board, promising working and middle income Americans “massive” cuts. His plan includes reducing the number of tax brackets from seven to three, cutting corporate taxes, eliminating the estate tax and increasing the standard deduction for individual filers.
According to one analysis, the top 1% of earners would see their income increase by double-digits, while the bottom quarter gets a boost of up to 1.9%. But the Center for a Responsible Budget has also warned his plan would balloon the national debt.
The man ‘predicted’ riots if he were not elected, i.e. inciting them, mentioning the second (? the gun) amendment. He stands not for the freedom a civilised nation should aim for or desirable reform but for blatant fascist values, inequality and hate. If people can vote for him after all the gruesome things he said in public, the lies he told on the trail than I underestimated their intelligence and commitment to basic humanity. This is not about losing to a Republican but about handing power to an unpredictable dangerous madman.
